HARD‘s flagship festival HARD Summer has not only sold out for 2015, but has sold tickets in record numbers that far outstrip any year in the festival’s history. HARD events are renowned for boasting some of the best lineups in Southern California, with diverse artists represented including Jack Ü, the Weeknd, Chemical Brothers, and Porter Robinson. This year’s edition will take place August 1 and 2 at the Fairplex in Pomona, where the festival may have found a new permanent home after testing several venues in recent years. This year, 65,000 fans will attend each day for a weekend total of 130,000. These 2015 numbers dwarf those of HARD Summer in 2014, which was held at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area outside of Los Angeles with 40,000 attendees daily and 80,000 for the weekend.

In numbers, HARD Summer sits solidly above other comparable festivals in the area. FYF Fest, held in downtown Los Angeles’ Exposition Park with a 2015 lineup including Frank Ocean, Chet Faker, and Flume, saw 40,000 attendees per day at last year’s two-day festival. Of course, HARD Summer has not yet reached the gargantuan proportions of West Coast heavy-hitters like Coachella (100,000 attendees over two weekends and six days) and EDC Las Vegas (130,000 attendees each night for three nights), but that’s not this festival’s objective. The HARD brand has built its reputation on exceptionally well-curated lineups and staying two steps ahead of the rest of the world in their artist bookings, and fans come to HARD events knowing that they will leave having heard both old favorites and fresh new talent.
It’s safe to say HARD Summer has become one of the most highly-anticipated summer festival events in the country, and 2015′s numbers make it clear that this festival isn’t going anywhere but up.
