Hard Summer 2017 Event Recap

Hard Summer’s 10 year anniversary was nothing short of incredible. With such a diverse lineup, awesome new venue, located at Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino, and an amazing summer day in SoCal, it was sure to be the best Hard Summer yet. The relocation to the new venue made this the smoothest Hard Summer yet. Entering the festival was easy with  fans and misters covered with shade to keep guests cool as they waited to get into the festival, which was much shorter wait times than previous years. Once you entered the festival there were water refill stations everywhere, large cool down tents with fans & misters, along with water features throughout to keep you nice & cool throughout the day. VIP guests also had a great area to relax in, including multiple bars, restrooms, tables to sit down & relax or meet new friends, and their own restrooms. Along with all the great amenities of VIP there was also amazing viewing areas at both the HARD and HARDER stage which was also accompanied by a pool

Day one was headlined by Dj Snake, with supporting acts from Rae Sremmurd, Zeds Dead, Tchami, Malaa, E-40, Charli XCX, & the list goes on. Gary Richards, former owner/founder of HARD, announced a meet & greet at the ferris wheel, which was a huge turn out. Day one was a blast, but day two was something special.

Day two, the vibes were insane! Walking into the festival, you knew it was going to be something magical. Destructo, HARD’s very own Gary Richards, had such an epic final set with his HARD family. During his set, he had special guests & friends of the HARD family, clowns, performers, his two children, & at one point invited the crowd to come on stage with him. The day was filled with amazing artists such as Jaiwolf, Brillz, Baauer, Justin Martin, & more. Also finally returning after a four year hiatus, as many fans have been waiting for, Skrillex and Boys Noize returned as Dog Blood. Dog Blood put on the most genre bending set of the weekend. The set included songs from all different artists & genres mixed to make it a true Dog Blood set. The night ended with Snoop Dogg performing Doggystyle & it was the perfect ending to an amazing HARD weekend.

Overall we enjoyed everything HARD had to offer for their 10 year anniversary. The new venue, the layout of the festival, amazing artists, food & drinks, cool down tents, & swimming pools. Although we will very dearly miss seeing Gary Richards as part of the HARD team, we know HARD will always put on an amazing show. We look forward to what HARD has in store for upcoming events!
